Joshua Bassett Coming Out...Sort Of.

Joshua Bassett, star of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, recently “came out,” stating he was questioning his sexuality.

Big win for the members of the LGBTQ+ community: JOSHUA BASSETT CAME OUT OF THE CLOSET!!! Well...sort of. He’s questioning his sexual orientation but that’s okay! Hell, that’s one of the the two things the Q stands for. Now honestly, this is the quite the shock cause I don’t think anyone saw this coming, especially after the whole Olivia/Sabrina debacle. But here’s the thing about that: I have a theory. Are you ready for it? Okay, here it goes: So, this is my theory. So, Josh posted a message about love and acceptance on his Instagram and guess who commented a white heart on it? Sabrina. Now, because of Olivia’s song “Drivers License” people have come to the assumption that Sabrina and Josh are dating.  Now, Josh said that his entire life people have been trying to tell him what his sexuality was and I can bet you that it probably got worse after he got really famous. So, when “Drivers License” came out it, put a spotlight on him. Now, I think that Sabrina knew that Josh probably wasn’t sure of his sexuality so she became like his “rumored beard” because we never fully got confrontation that they were actually “dating.” With “Drivers License” putting Joshua under a spotlight, Sabrina had to make sure that people kept believing that they might actually be a thing so she released “Skins” so that way not only would people be more convinced that Joshua was straight but also to take the spotlight off him and put it on her and Olivia. And maybe the lyrics have more meaning to them then we realize near the end. The part where she’s like “I just hope one day we can laugh about it” cause let’s be honest: If he turns out to be fully into guys, then this whole “fight” over him was kind of stupid. I think this is maybe why Josh didn’t “wait” for Olivia, because he had a feeling he might not be straight and didn’t want to lead her on because it could have been clear she was catching some hard feelings. With Sabrina, there’s no feelings, just one friend helping another. Now, he could be bi or pan, and the relationship with Sabrina could be real, but she still could’ve been trying to help him keep his sexuality a secret until he was ready to say something. Now, I know this might seem kind of out there but you know it could be the possibility. I mean, you got to admit that it does kind of make sense. But besides the point, congrats to young Joshua for being courageous enough to be open about his coming of age sexuality (still can’t believe that he chose to come out by talking about Harry Styles😂). And for those who think that he’s just joking or queer baiting know this: queer baiting is for fictional characters, not real life people, and it’s this type of “oh he’s just joking” or “he’s using the LGBTQ community as a joke” thinking and mentality that’s makes it hard for people, especially celebrities, to be open about their sexuality. So please, try to be supportive. Joshua, we got your back and you got our full support. So even if you come to the conclusion that you just might be gay, pan, bi, or even just straight, we’ll still support you.

Ok, Can We Please Talk About Cal Jacobs From "Euphoria?"

Sweet Jesus, I'm so happy that I got into the show Euphoria when I did because this show is hitting different in ways I never thought possible. Now, you should know that I love me a good backstory for a character, particularly the sort of "villain/bad person" characters. So when episode three of Euphoria season 2 came out, the first 20 or so minutes literally had me broken. I never thought these words would leave my lips but oh my God, I feel bad for Cal. Now, before y'all go off and start canceling me let me just say this: I'm not stanning Cal, nor do I think that what happened to him in his past makes up for what he has done now in the present, but I'm kind of looking at this from a so...

New City, New Killer! Scream 6 Review

After seeing Scream 6 a second time, I can give my overall thoughts on the film. It is probably my new favorite out of all the Scream films, a spot initially held by Scream 5. This new movie was absolutely nuts, but that's what made it enjoyable. The characters were pretty good. The Core Four was satisfying in every scene they were in, the breakouts being once again Sam and Tara. The new people were okay and bearable, but Gale continued to steal every scene and bring badass energy (though I didn't like how they backtracked her character development from previous films for the first half of the film). My favorite from the film was Tara. And Kirby's return? *Chef's kiss* I almost cried when I thought she had died in Scream 4, but because the film gods are good, they brought her back for another round! I love the change of scenery from the small town of Woodsboro to New York City. Having the characters fight Ghostface in a city known for crazy crime and f...

Scream (2022) Review: What's Your Favorite Scary Movie?

What's your favorite scary movie?     Well, I can definitely tell you mine's definitely rising to be Scream (2022) ! The addition to the highly popular meta horror movie series brings together old previous heroes and fresh faces as we are taken back to the town of Woodsboro as the infamous Ghostface returns to strike terror and fear into folks once again. Set 10 or 11 years after the events of Scream 4 , 25-year-old Samantha Carpenter returns to her hometown of Woodsboro where her past comes back to haunt her as a new Ghostface makes her his new target. Now she must get the help the old survivors in order to stop the new killer.      This film, like the ones that became before, uses a certain movie theme that they base everything around. The first movie basing everything off scary movies, the second movie basing everything off of sequels, the third basing everything off of trilogies, and the fourth basing everything off of remakes. Thi...
