Shawn Mendes: Legendary

Hello readers! Back with another post and this one is something that I’ve been thinking about doing for a while now. This post is going to be about the one and only, the god king himself, Shawn Mendes. Now I have been a fan of Shawn’s music for a good hot minute. I will admit at first, I didn’t really dig his music because it all just seemed kind of basic and not worth the listen. The only song I did like was the song he did for the movie Descendants (love that film!!) but other than that, he just wasn’t all that good to me. But then I heard In My Blood. Y’all…when I tell you that song did something to me, I mean it did something to me. It unlocked emotions that I didn’t even know I had. And now thanks to that song, I am a die-hard Shawn Mendes fan. He has made it to my top five favorite singers list. Right underneath Taylor Swift and before Todrick Hall. So, in today’s post, I’m giving you my top five favorite Shawn Mendes songs and why I like them. Hopefully y’all can relate.

  1. Life of the Party.

Life of the party just hits me in those young feels you know? Whenever I hear it I just imagine being a wild and young teenager (which I already am, a teenager, not wild) and just going out and having a good time. Driving down a road while looking at the sun setting in the distance, the sky the colors black, dark pink, and orange. I can imagine older folks listening to this song and just remembering that fun time in their youth.

  1. Aftertaste

This song makes me want to get in a relationship and have them break up with me. It also serves as a huge middle finger to anyone who thinks that they can just breakup with an amazing person and think you can replace them with someone else. No matter what, the person you broke up with will always be the one person you regret leaving and can never forget.

  1. Wonder

Wonder really just took me out of this world. It’s like that song that every time you hear it you feel like your flying or floating above everything in life. The lyrics, the music, the passion in it just makes it larger than life. The music video definitely was. The message in the song really just speaks not to the brain, but the heart. The message of love and fame really just, I don’t know they just really sink deep within the soul and this make it physically impossible to hate this song. And that ending in both the song and music video. Whoo. Angels were on Earth.

  1. Señorita ft. Camila Cabello

Let me tell you something about this song. The amount of time I listened to this song could pretty much be considered unhealthy. The amount of chemistry that these two artist have is phenomenal. They just make me want to literally scream. And I thought I Know What You Did Last Summer was the perfect song by them. I was wrong. This song is what officially started the ship between Shawn and Camila. The sexual tension that we hear in the song and see in the music video is just perfect. When I hear this song I just picture hot nights under a Latin moon dancing to an amazing yet passionate song with a beautiful, breathtaking señorita (see what I did there?).

  1. Believe

Now like I said earlier this song is from the movie Descendants and it, like the film, is amazing. It's a real encouraging song that just inspires me to be better and to not let the tiniest of life mistakes just bring me down. It just says to me that we all can do better and can really rise up and face our true potential. That nothing is impossible is we just believe. Honestly, I think that song and its meaning go perfectly with the film. This was the first Shawn Mendes song to actually make me think that “Hey, Shawn’s actually a really good singer and maybe I can give his music a try.”

Thank you, my lovely readers for taking the time out of your day to read my post! I will try my hardest to post some more things in the near future so be on the lookout. I have some more ideas on what to post about so this should be fun! If you want to follow my social media accounts you will be able to find them in my bio! Till next time. ;)

Ok, Can We Please Talk About Cal Jacobs From "Euphoria?"

Sweet Jesus, I'm so happy that I got into the show Euphoria when I did because this show is hitting different in ways I never thought possible. Now, you should know that I love me a good backstory for a character, particularly the sort of "villain/bad person" characters. So when episode three of Euphoria season 2 came out, the first 20 or so minutes literally had me broken. I never thought these words would leave my lips but oh my God, I feel bad for Cal. Now, before y'all go off and start canceling me let me just say this: I'm not stanning Cal, nor do I think that what happened to him in his past makes up for what he has done now in the present, but I'm kind of looking at this from a so...

New City, New Killer! Scream 6 Review

After seeing Scream 6 a second time, I can give my overall thoughts on the film. It is probably my new favorite out of all the Scream films, a spot initially held by Scream 5. This new movie was absolutely nuts, but that's what made it enjoyable. The characters were pretty good. The Core Four was satisfying in every scene they were in, the breakouts being once again Sam and Tara. The new people were okay and bearable, but Gale continued to steal every scene and bring badass energy (though I didn't like how they backtracked her character development from previous films for the first half of the film). My favorite from the film was Tara. And Kirby's return? *Chef's kiss* I almost cried when I thought she had died in Scream 4, but because the film gods are good, they brought her back for another round! I love the change of scenery from the small town of Woodsboro to New York City. Having the characters fight Ghostface in a city known for crazy crime and f...

Scream (2022) Review: What's Your Favorite Scary Movie?

What's your favorite scary movie?     Well, I can definitely tell you mine's definitely rising to be Scream (2022) ! The addition to the highly popular meta horror movie series brings together old previous heroes and fresh faces as we are taken back to the town of Woodsboro as the infamous Ghostface returns to strike terror and fear into folks once again. Set 10 or 11 years after the events of Scream 4 , 25-year-old Samantha Carpenter returns to her hometown of Woodsboro where her past comes back to haunt her as a new Ghostface makes her his new target. Now she must get the help the old survivors in order to stop the new killer.      This film, like the ones that became before, uses a certain movie theme that they base everything around. The first movie basing everything off scary movies, the second movie basing everything off of sequels, the third basing everything off of trilogies, and the fourth basing everything off of remakes. Thi...
