Joshua, Joshua, Joshua. Are You Okay, My Dude?

 Okay, I say this with the light of the sweet baby Jesus. Joshua Bassett concerns me. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Christian too, and I should be happy that Josh has found Christ, but something about this is rubbing my spirit in the wrong way. I just get the weird feeling that this is all very conversion therapy-ish if you know what I mean. Like next he's going to be all "Oh, I'm not actually queer, cause I found Jesus and He cured it" or he's gonna become a conservative. Granted, I know there are Christian liberals, but Republican Christians are something else. Or worse, he'll become a conservative queer. You know, the ones who are complete sellouts that kiss the butts of straight people and in the process completely turn their backs on the LGBT community all for the approval of people who will never truly accept them and only want them around so they can seem like they aren't close-minded? Religion: An Answer or a Cult?

 Many seek religion, whether Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, or Islam. But sometimes, belief can be more problematic than helpful. Some seek out faith in times of crisis, like when someone they care about falls ill or feels like they've lost their way and their life is spinning out of control. There are those who join a religion because it helps them better understand themselves, the world, and life. But some use their religion as a way to hurt others. They prop themselves on top of their religion and use their views to tear down other people and make themselves feel more important than they are. So it comes to whether religion is genuinely an answer or more like a cult. Take this as an example. I'm a Christian, but I have friends who aren't.
